Africa Health Research Institute Nesstar Publisher v1.0.0 HIV self-testing kits (HIVST), Adolescents and young people (AYP), Partners, HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), Antiretroviral therapy (ART South Africa Demographic surveillance area of the Africa Health Research Institute; KwaZulu-Natal, uMkhanyakude district. Unit of analysis is participants. The study sample will consist of adolescent young women and men aged 18-24 years resident in the AHRI surveillance area. The AYP will be targeted in safe spaces, sport events and in their homes. The study will involve primary distribution of HIVST kits to AYP and secondary distribution of HIVST kits by the same AYP to their partners. Cross-sectional survey data Adolescents and young people (AYP) aged 18-24 years who were residents in the demographic surveillance area of the Africa Health Research Institute and residents of kwaMyeki area(where the peer navigator is resident) were randomly selected. A total of 250 participants were eligible to be enrolled into the study and a total of 165 AYP were enrolled to the study. All data will be managed using electronic data management tools. The data management system for these will be based on REDCap (research electronic data capture). The REDCap database resides within a single MySQL database server within a secure server cluster at the AHRI. Access control is managed through Microsoft Active Directory with minimum password complexity and compulsory password change policies. Mlungwana, S.
