The system was implemented in 2017 to assist clinical research assistants (CRAs) stationed in these clinics to capture reasons for clinic attendance. AHRILink database for each of the clinics is linked to a central AHRILink database through ongoing replication process. On a daily basis the PIP surveillance database is synchronised with the central AHRILink database, allowing CRAs access to an up to date list of individuals to search in AHRILink. Individuals are searched using individual identifiers such as first names, surnames, date of birth, sex and South African civilian identifiers. Deterministic and fuzzy match approaches are used to search for the individuals in the database. Verification is done to ensure that the individual is correctly linked by checking with the individual to name the household members who form part of the household they are part of.","coll_dates":[{"start":"2017-01-01","end":"2023-02-28","cycle":""}],"nation":[{"name":"South Africa","abbreviation":"ZA"}],"geog_coverage":"uMkhanyakude district in northern KwaZulu-Natal","analysis_unit":"Each record is a visit reason per visit (VisitId) that each individual has had.
