    Abstract

All current members of households with a current Residency in a Bounded Structure are eligible for the Household and Socio-Economic Survey "HSE" questionnaires.
Note that the questionnaire is part of household surveillance, and thus will normally be answered by a senior household member. Thus it is perfectly possible for the individual HSE record to be completed for individuals who have outmigrated or are already dead at the time the questionnaire is administered. The survey was first run during 2001. It was changed significantly when rerun in 2003. In 2006 it was shortened substantially, removing many items on expenditure and economic shocks. Since 2006 there have been very few changes. No survey was run in 2008. Users of this dataset are strongly encouraged to refer to the images of the questionnaires included in the annual datasets to check carefully for any changes in question wording, ordering, options offered etc. This document does not attempt to describe every single change and variation.
