In a quasi-experimental pre-post intervention evaluation design, Brazil collected caregiver data as a part of a larger global validation study on the effects of a mental health promotion intervention called Caring for the Caregiver. Caring for the caregiver is a frontline worker-delivered integrated mental health promotion intervention where FLWs are exposed to essential skills training and/or toolkit activities. The validation study aimed to determine whether this exposure improved caregiver self-efficacy and social support and reduced depression, anxiety, and parenting stress in six countries. Data on the caregiver's perception of the intervention was also collected.
Variables:
(Age, Marital status, Education, Employment, Asset score, Food security, Child gender, Stressors, Partner relationship)
(Pre and post scores on Depression (PHQ-9). Anxiety (GAD-7), Parenting stress (PSI-36), Self-efficacy (GSE), Social support (MPSS))
Quasi-experimental pre-post data from self-report questionnaires and standardised psychological measures
Each study participant had to complete multiple time points: a baseline, a visit 1 (collected at the same time) and a visit 2 assessment (collected 5 months after the implementation of CFC had started).
